The Best Insurance Policy Ever

The call came ‘out of the blue.’  “Mr. Rizzo, can you teach an extra chemistry class for us?”  My husband groaned.  “A second class?”  He enjoyed the leisure of teaching one class twice a week–just enough to keep him involved yet allowed him a certain amount of freedom in his weekly schedule.  After years of being debt-free, we’d been forced, at the beginning of the summer, to take out a small loan to replace our roof and air-conditioner.  After praying about the job opportunity overnight, Richard reluctantly agreed to teach the class, at least for one semester.  Maybe, just maybe, we would be able to pay off our loan in half the time–that would be good.

Isaiah 65:5 NIV promises, “Before they call, I will answer; while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”  I thought, If there’s ever been an answer to prayer, a promise we can trust, that’s it!

Two days later our second car, an aging Honda, blew a gasket.  Several additional repairs popped up as the mechanics tore into the 200,000 mile engine.  A thousand here, five or six hundred there and we were looking at increasing our loan even further.

I don’t know about you, but I hate spending money on automobiles, yet I love when the Lord shows His hand in my life.  I am reminded that God already has the answer to our vehicle problem just as He did to pay off our new roof and air-conditioner.  I can know for certain that, in His time, even before I call, He will provide an ‘automobile insurance policy’ that meets our needs.  Ya’ can’t beat that deal anywhere.
