Silver Linings

Ever feel like a failure?  I know I have at one time or another. I wonder if Christopher Columbus ever felt like a failure for setting out for but never finding India.  All he did was discover the Americas.  How did the brainiacs at Apple feel when their personal digital assistant creation expired after 6 years, but then to have their invention pave the way for the overwhelmingly popular i-pad?  Two examples of failures that brought about a greater good.

Personally I thought my life was over when I lost my teaching job.  I loved teaching.  I’d wanted to be a teacher since first grade.  And I could never have imagined that God had a totally different direction for my life, one not only with a silver lining, but one which would bring me unbelievable joy.  The pain I suffered, the tears I shed prepared me for a ministry I could never have imagined.  So take it from me, when I read Romans 8:28 NIV, “For we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose,” I believe every word of that promise.  Do you?
