18,515 + 1

18,515 + 1 days ago I could have said, “Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of your life.”  On February 12, 1962 a swarthy Italian from NYC asked me to attend a “boring” lyceum with him at AUC.  I could never have imagined how much that one event would affect the rest of my life.  It’s been a great run.  And now 51 years minus one day later, he is my BFF, my soul mate, the keeper of my flame, my most enthusiastic cheerleader, my…I could go and on.

Sometimes I wonder, what if I’d had my way about attending Oshawa Missionary College instead of AUC?  What if I’d pursued my dream to become a Broadway singer (Yeah, right, not enough talent for that to happen!) or got a job at home after my high school graduation?

So many decision, both big and little can change the outcome of one’s life.  Scary to put that much trust in the wisdom of a daffy girl of 18.   Today 18,515 + 1 days, two daughters, two sons-in-law and two grandsons later I can say, “All things work together for good…”

Thanks for working out Your custom made plan for my life.  (Jer. 29:11)  Thank You dear Father for guiding me beyond the kinks in my wacky judgement that could have sent me in a direction that would have brought me pain and defeat.  Thank You for loving me so much for knowing the real “desire of my heart” and giving me Richard.
