Happy Birthday Honey

Happy birthday, honey.  Was it really so long ago we vowed to love one another ’till death us do part?’  Yes, I guess it was.  How the world has changed since that sunny day in September!  JFK was president; automobiles had fins; and over the radio, Elvis crooned our song, “I Can’t Help Falling in Love with You.”

We’ve changed too.  We’ve grown grayer and wider.  Our love for one another has changed as well.  When my mother predicted, “If you think you love him now, wait.  It gets better.”  She was right.  I love you more today than I could have ever imagined way back then.  You, my dear, are like fine wine or old cheese.  You get better with age.  I’m so thankful you took Solomon’s wise advice to rejoice in the wife of your youth.  Our ‘fountain’ has truly been blessed.  Proverbs 5:18,19.

Richard, I know you feel older today than you did yesterday, but guess what?  So do I.  No matter how many days we have together you will always be my BFF; my Farfel; the keeper of my flame; and the joy of my life.  Here’s to our next 49 years together.
