Kiss on the Cheek

Today I received a kiss on the cheek from a young friend of mine.  Cassie slipped me a thank you note this morning as I entered church.  She thanked me for the book I gave her, REBECCA’S CROSSING and told me how much she and her friends enjoyed the entire series of SERENITY INN.  It was like a kiss on the cheek from the Holy Spirit.  By giving sincere thanks yous and encouragement to one another we become the “lips” of the Spirit planting a sweet kiss on the cheek  of the receiver.  Isn’t that cool?  The Apostle Paul planted kisses on the cheeks of his congregants at the beginning and end of His letters–thanking their leaders for their hard work, their faithfulness, etc.  An example is found in Romans 16:19 NIV “Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you…”

A good Thanksgiving message to remember every day is to put the “kiss on the cheek” principle into practice.  Have you planted a kiss for the Holy Spirit on someone cheek today?
