Prop Me Up, Lord

An old barn was listing to one side.   To save the structure from crashing to the ground, the farmer propped up the weak side with several sturdy boards.  Now whenever he’s having a bad day, the man looks at that old barn which is still standing in the field behind his house and prays to God, “Prop me up, Lord.”

Upon receiving this e-mail I sent it to a dear friend whose wife has a chronic and debilitating illness on the very day he had to take her, once again, to the hospital.  While I appreciated the sentiment of the message, for him it proved to be exactly what he needed; precisely when he needed it–a God moment to be sure.  Maybe it will be a God-moment for you too.

“My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
